Alan Evans
I had a mixed career since I
left CGS, first working for the SMRE in Sheffield as a lab technician.
Eventually, via Blackpool School of Photography, I eventually migrated
to Granada Television, where I worked as a cameraman for over 30 years.
It was a good well paid job that got me all around the world, literally
watching history being made on occaisions. Then they made me a manager
and I retired.
At school I started climbing
with Pete Scott and climbing has been my passion ever since, with a fair
amount of success in the Alps and Himalayas as well as hundreds of first
ascents in the UK.
I am now living in Spain, still
climbing and doing new routes, mainly on my own personal mountain, Segaria,
which is virtually in my back yard.
I was at CGS from 1960 to 1965,
If any of the old crowd want to get in touch, e-mail me.
