Robert Brooks
I was part of the 1962/1963 intake
and left the 6th Form just after the school went comprehensive in 1969.
I was head boy in my final year
and was delighted to see a number of my old aquaintances on the site including
Steven Sibley; Alan Clark; Dave Clarke; Dave Stockley; Barry Keeton; David
Greaves; Lois Bradley and many others.
I do not have a suitable digital
photo to hand (probably just as well!) but I will try to sort one out and
would love to let everyone know that I am in touch.
I came upon the site purely
by chance and would almost certainly have contacted you sooner had I known
that it existed.
Like everyone else, I am now
in my mid fifties, married with three grown up children and two grandchildren
(where do the years go!).
I practice law in central London
and have done so since qualifying as a solicitor in 1976.
I live in Hertfordshire and
when not commuting or travelling in my job (which I do quite a lot) I like
to relax by walking our two Great Danes; reading (although the eyes are
not what they used to be) and writing poetry.
I have always liked swimming
and spent 12 years as a keen scuba diver until business and family committments
put an end to weekends away. Although I was not athletic at school
(as those who remember me will attest) I am proud to say that I ran the
London Marathon in 1993 in under 4 hours and the New York Marathon in 1998.
Back problems have since put paid to my long distance running efforts.
I ride a motor cycle (although
I am between bikes at the moment) and although I did use my bike to commute
the 90 mile round trip to work every day, I most enjoy touring abroad and
have been several times to France; Germany; Belgium and Switzerland.
I hope you will post this message
on the website and pass on my email address to anyone who wants to get
in touch.
