Fitzalan Square

This open space was created in 1881 when buildings in what was then Market Street were demolished. The area gets its name from a branch of the Howard (Dukes of Norfolk) family.

Fitzalan Square was the hub of the Sheffield Tramway system.

The Electra Palace was one of the earlier, purpose-built cinemas in the city.
